Gratitude journal and mood calendar
A few lines about what you are grateful for today – that is the idea of the gratitude journal. You write in the browser or in the Android app, and in the browser a mood calendar shows how you have felt over the past weeks.
An entry in a few seconds
An entry consists of a text of up to 1000 characters and, optionally, a mood on a five-step scale from 😔 to 😄. You can delete your own entries at any time.
In the browser and in the app
In the browser, the journal is on the wellbeing page; in the Android app, it is listed as “Gratitude” in the control center and in the menu search. Entries are stored on the server and therefore appear on every device where you are signed in.
The mood calendar in the browser
The mood calendar shows your last 16 weeks as a grid of days; the colour of a day is the average of your moods. It also shows your streak of consecutive days with entries, the number of entries and how your moods are distributed. When you select a day, you see up to five entries from that day.
Two calendars, two sources
The Android app has a mood calendar too, but it is based on the entries in the “Seelentresor” journal. The Seelentresor is stored encrypted on the device only and is not synced with the web, so its entries do not appear in the browser calendar.
Who sees the entries
Friendstime does not show your entries to other members: viewing, adding and deleting work only for your own entries. The entries are not end-to-end encrypted, are stored readable on the server, and authorised team members can view them for moderation.

Frequently asked questions
Can others read my gratitude journal?
Other members cannot, because only your own entries can be retrieved. The entries are, however, stored readable on the server and are not end-to-end encrypted; authorised team members can view them for moderation.
Are entries synced between phone and browser?
Yes. The entries are stored on the server and appear in the browser and in the Android app as soon as you are signed in.
Why does the app calendar show different days than the browser?
The app calendar is based on the Seelentresor, which is stored only on the device. The browser calendar uses the moods from the gratitude journal.
Do I have to choose a mood?
No, the mood is optional. Only entries with a mood count towards the colour of a day in the calendar.
Does the journal replace therapy?
No. It is a simple self-help exercise and no substitute for medical or psychological help.
