Saved posts (bookmarks)

Saved posts are a personal list of reminders: you put posts aside to find them again later, without sharing or commenting on them.

What are saved posts?

Saved posts – also called bookmarks or a watch list – are a personal collection of posts you want to find again later. You tap a save icon, the post lands in your list, and tapping again takes it out. Unlike sharing, the post does not appear on your profile.

What you use them for

A saved list is handy for recipes, travel tips, event notices, instructions or posts you want to answer later at your leisure. Many networks let you organise the list into collections, such as “Recipes” or “Holiday”, so you can still find saved items weeks later.

What to keep in mind

A saved list usually stores only a link to the post, not a copy. If the author deletes the post, makes it private or blocks you, it may vanish from your list. Anything you really want to keep is better saved yourself, for example as a note with the source. Also bear in mind that your list says something about your interests; it is part of the data a service stores about you.

On Friendstime

On Friendstime you save posts with the “Save” entry in the post menu (browser) or the bookmark icon (app). In the browser menu the list is called “Saved posts” (page “My saved posts”), in the app “Bookmarks” or “My Bookmarks”; the most recently saved come first. You can create up to 50 collections of your own (name up to 60 characters) and sort posts into them. Only a post you are allowed to see can be newly saved; if a post later becomes private or is removed, or you and the author block each other, it disappears from the list. Saving does not notify the author. Your bookmarks are part of the data you receive in the data export.
