Forgot your password: back into your account in a few steps
It happens to everyone: the password is gone and the password manager is not helping right now. On Friendstime you reset it via your email address. This guide shows the steps, explains the protective rules and what happens to your sign-ins afterwards.
Step 1: request the link
On the sign-in page, tap “Forgot password?” and enter your account’s email address. Friendstime always answers the same way: if an account with this address exists and is verified, instructions for resetting have been sent. That way the form does not reveal whether an address is registered with Friendstime. Check your spam folder too.
Step 2: set a new password
The link in the email is valid for one hour. It opens the page “Set a new password”, where you enter your new password twice. It must be at least 12 characters long. If the link has expired, simply request a new one. A password manager helps you create a long password and store it safely.
What happens afterwards
After the reset, Friendstime ends all sessions of your account, in the browser and in the app. Other devices land on the sign-in page again the next time they are used. So if a stranger had gained access, they are locked out afterwards as long as they do not know your new password.
Protection against abuse
To prevent your mailbox from being flooded, requests are limited: at most 5 requests per internet connection in 15 minutes and at most 3 per email address in one hour. If you reach a limit, wait a little and try again. Only verified accounts receive the reset link.
So it does not happen again
Choose a password you use only for Friendstime and keep it in a password manager. Also switch on two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app and, if you like, set up a passkey; the password stays valid alongside it. Because the reset link goes to your mailbox, protect that well too.
