How your feed works

Last updated: 23.10.2026 Version 1.0 EN

What appears in your feed

Your feed shows posts by you, your friends, accounts you follow and pages you like, plus posts from groups you belong to and your friends’ marketplace listings and events.

If you have no friends yet and follow nobody, the app shows public posts by other members so the feed is not empty.

The “Recommended” order

“Recommended” is the default. It starts from the time a post was published. Posts with more interactions move up a little: each interaction counts like 20 minutes of extra freshness, up to eight hours in total. A comment counts twice, a share three times.

Re-ordering only happens within one loaded page of the feed. An old post does not suddenly jump to the top.

If a post is marked as “disputed”, it moves back by six hours.

What we do not use

We do not turn your behaviour into an interest profile. How long you look at a post, what you click and what you do on other websites play no part in the order. Nor do the interests you enter on your own profile.

Chronological instead of recommended

You can switch to a purely chronological order at any time, newest posts first. On the web, use the switch above the feed or Settings → Appearance → Feed order. In the app, go to Settings → “Chronological feed”.

Accounts under 18

If you are under 18, your feed only shows posts by you, your friends, pages you like and your own groups. Posts from accounts you only follow, public posts by strangers and ads do not appear.

Ads in the feed

How ads are chosen is explained on Advertising on Friendstime.
