Let people vote: polls on Friendstime
Pizza or pasta, Saturday or Sunday, which logo for the club? A poll settles such questions faster than a long discussion. On Friendstime you find polls in several places. Here is where to start them and what you can set.
Poll in a post
When creating a post on the web, add a vote with the poll button; in the Android app you do the same in the creation window. You enter a question and 2 to 4 answer options. If you like, you set how long voting stays open, at most 30 days. The preview shows you beforehand how the post will look in the feed. Photos, videos or a GIF cannot be combined with a poll, and a poll is published right away rather than scheduled.
Who can vote
Anyone who can see a post can vote. You set visibility as for any post: “Public”, “Friends” or “Only me”, and in the Android app also “Close friends”. For a vote among friends, “Friends” is enough. Anyone who may not see the post cannot vote either.
Polls in chat
In the messenger you send polls in the Android app, in one-to-one chats and in chat groups. On the web you start a poll in a group chat. Voting works in both. That way a group quickly agrees on a date or a destination.
Polls in stories
In the Android app you can also put a poll on a story. You can vote on story polls on the web as well. Keep in mind that a story expires after 24 hours; for longer votes a post works better.
Careful with giveaway polls
Some polls only exist to collect data or spread links to scam sites. If taking part asks for personal details or payment data, stop. Report such posts through the menu on the post and choose a reason such as spam; people on the moderation team review the report.
