Friendsti.me is also reachable as a Tor onion service — this way our server does not see your own IP address, and blocks by internet providers are easier to get around.

What is Tor?

Tor is an anonymity network: your traffic runs through three random nodes. Your internet provider then only sees that you use Tor, and our server does not see your own IP address. .onion addresses only work inside the Tor network; the connection between your Tor Browser and the onion service is encrypted.

How do I use Tor?

1. Download the Tor Browser (Windows, Mac, Linux, Android).
2. Start the browser and click "Connect".
3. Open our .onion address:

Important notes

• Video calls (WebRTC) do not work over Tor. Audio/video does not tunnel through onion routing.
• Performance is slower than direct HTTPS — Tor routes through 3 hops.
• Your normal account works via .onion just the same. No additional login.
• Always use the official Tor Browser. Tor plugins for Chrome/Firefox are not safe.
